From 12-16 of February, 2016, nineteen participants from the hills of Shan State were brought to Yangon by MIID to learn about bamboo and furniture products. This was their first time to Yangon, the trip was part of the Winrock International Value Chains for Rural Development work in Shan State and made possible through a grant by USAID.

During their field trip to Yangon they visited Tatmadaw hall, Bogyoke market, Pop Pop Farm in Hlegu, the Plant Protection Department, Vegetables and Fruit Research and Development Centre and the MIID head office in Yangon.
