This year, the MIID stand at Nordic Day featured the Young Inle Lake Ambassadors. The 9 Ambassadors are residents from communities around Inle Lake who have taken a special interest in addressing the environmental challenges the Lake faces.
After an extensive learning programme accompanied by leading experts on Inle Lake, the Young Ambassadors are raising environmental awareness within the communities surrounding the lake through an outreach campaign on markets and in villages, monasteries and schools.
The programme concludes with the Ambassadors’ Conference in late March where the Young Ambassadors will present their research findings and recommendations to inspire decision makers to ensure environmental protection and sustainable development of the lake.
